“Help, how do I get into my blog so I can write something?”
This may sound simple, but I have been asked this question many times, so here are four ways for you to access your dashboard so you can write a post:
1. Via the sign in form:
Type in your blog’s URL with /wp-login.php on the end, eg http://settingupablog.wordpress.com/wp-login.php to get this sign in form:

Type in your username and password you set up when you created your blog, and click on ‘Log In’. You will then be directed to your blog’s dashboard.
2. Access when visiting the blog:
Go straight into your blog by accessing it through its URL:

and if you can see the grey links at the top underneath your browser material, click on ‘My Dashboard’.
If there aren’t any links visible, it means you are not logged into WordPress.
3. Via WordPress:
Go to http://wordpress.com to log in:

Type in your username and password in the form on the left sidebar, click on ‘Login’ and a list of your blog(s) will come up:

Click on your blog’s name, and you will be directed to your blog’s dashboard.
4. Through the meta widget:

Meta
Go to your blog through the normal methods and locate and enter through your meta widget at the bottom of your blog’s sidebar (if you have included one).
If you’re not logged in, enter through the second link, but if you are already logged in, you can access direct to the dashboard through the ‘Site Admin’ link.
Once in you will see the dashboard:

and the many links for how to create a post.
